How to Connect Akia to Brivo
- Log into Akia
- Go to the Integrations page.
- You'll find Brivo under the Remote Key section. Please install.
- Authorize Akia for access in Brivo via this link. Brivo will ask you confirm that you can grant access to Akia.
- To create an automated message to issue the door codes select “Brivo Issue Access” from Actions within the automated message. Brivo will issue its standard message with a link for guests to download the Brivo app and retrieve their door code.
Akia Tip: Make sure the name of your doors/groups in Brivo is the exact same as how they appear in Akia, or else the codes might not generate. For example, if your door/group in Brivo is labeled “Room 20 West” but in Akia, the room number shows as “Room 20 W,” the code won’t generate since the door names are different.
How to Manually Issue Access to a Gust
- Once the configuration by Akia has been completed, you will see a new component under the guest's profile that will allow you to issue a new Brivo access to the guest.
- By clicking on Issue New Code, Akia will automatically generate a new invite code to the guest's assigned room during the length of their stay.
- Once a code has been issued, the guest will receive a text message notifying them to download the Brivo app before clicking on the link to view their key code and room number.
- If there is a need to remove the guest access to the room, you can simply click the Revoke button for the guest.
“Unable to assign user to group” Error
- In order for Brivo to issue a code to a guest, the guest must have an email in Akia. Please confirm if the guest has an email.
- Akia matches the room number with the Brivo group name, so if the group name in Brivo is different (or you haven’t set a group for the door), then the code cannot be issued. Please create a group in Brivo for the door and retry issuing the code to the guest.
